The Donaldson Funeral Home was founded on June 10, 1933 by Vernon J. Donaldson.

The business, which was first known as Brookover-Donaldson Funeral Home, located at 33 N. Main Street, was a partnership with Lodus L. Brookover and Mr. Donaldson.

In 1935, Vernon bought Mr. Brookover's interest; then in 1941 he moved the business to its current location, which was the home of Vern's wife, the former Evelyn Hopson's grandfather, Norman, in 1941.

Throughout many years with their sons, David and Gary, longtime dedicated employee, Bruce P. Bombard, and in the most recent ten years, Chad W. Green, they have given “Personal, Yet Professional” funeral service to many.

On January 1, 2010, the tradition of a locally owned funeral home continues at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Inc. with the retirement of the Donaldson Family and the sale of the corporation to Chad W. Green, an employee for the past 10 years.

With the enclosure of the open porch, to the additional space added for parlors, and the handicap accessible ramp, our funeral home has seen many changes over the years.

Our funeral home currently has two parlors available to our families, an arrangement area, a full casket, urn and vault selection room, a clergy room, and a handicap accessible bathroom on the main floor of the facility.
